POL6611 POL6611 - AMERICAN NATIONAL GOVERNMENT (3 hours) - Meets Social Science Requirement A general study of the development, structure, and functions of the American national government. Topics include an introduction to government, principles of constitutionalism and federalism, political parties and political behavior, the Presidency, Congress, the judiciary and the federal bureaucracy. Specific emphasis on an analysis of decision-making in government, public participation, and influence in government and the study of specific problems concerning the operation of the federal government.
